The sync was done, so I said they could empty it to try to restore its function. Little did I know (oops), the photos on the phone were not part of the sync process. I lost 2/3 of my photos in no clear pattern. I now have a new 3g and am very sad. I'm afraid to upgrade to the 4 software. What can I do? I tried the demo and then bought it straight away! I had a double whammy - dead (ish) iPhone (drowned and no longer responds to touch but data apparently intact) and a dead MacBook Pro HD!
