My iWood Experience

by jared on September 18th, 2007

After a long, three week wait I was pleasantly suprised when my iWood for iPhone arrived.I’ll walk you through the opening, so you can feel like you’re actually there.  There was a small instruction manual and information package inside the box.  The case came put together with cardboard spacer in it.  The case connects and disconnects with magnets and tiny pieces of metal on the wood.  It fit nice and snug on my iPhone.  Sadly, there is an issue with the volume buttons and it would either get stuck pushing the volume up button, or not let me push the volume up button at all.  I emailed Miniot and anxiously awaiting a response.  In my efforts to try to adjust the tension on the volume toggle switch, I accidently skinned the button, but whatever.  If it were to at least work, I wouldn’t care about the skinned finish I caused.

  1. Which wood did you chose? On mine the problem I had was with the opening for the ringer silence switch. It is cut to tight arround the switch.

  2. My iWood for iPhone was Walnut, and the vibrate switch was the least of MY concerns. But it definitely wasn’t large enough for me to access the vibrate toggle without taking the iWood off.

They have shipped me a new iWood as of this morning. They mentioned talking to Apple about my specific serial number because the problem with the stuck volume button didn’t happen on my friend’s 4GB iPhone or another 8GB- very strange.

  3. i would(wood) try it again.
    that iphone case was dope!
